This is something I did not know about. Interesting idea. I wonder at the feasibility of some sort of samizdat operation for local kids....
I'd probably be lynched.

I have now bitten more off that I can chew....

....which if you seen me eat, you know is quite a lot.
I recently decides that the Pleasure Saucer needed to throw a fund-raising concert for URTV, like the ones Mount Dungeon has been doing. I've already talked with Fighting Fauna, Tony Wain and the Payne, and Phuncle Sam. This is going to be a full-on Subgenius Devival, with ranting, music, sideshows, sex, violence, and high weirdness. Nothing firm on exact dates, but I'm thinking my birthday, October 20th.
Now, this in of itself is not terrible. Its going to be a big undertaking, but I think I could do that. So why in the name of that is unholy did I volunteer, while filming the Kings of Prussia today for Mount Dungeon, to also plan the next Mount Dungeon fundraiser, to happen some time in November? Why? Ack!
Ah, well. We'll see what happens.

Another Pleasure Saucer

Kanye West is not my favorite rapper. Please understand, I don't hate him, but his music has never really grabbed me by the genitalia, and I probably wouldn't spend money on his CDs.
Still, you have to appreciate a stage show like this. When I get a bigger budget, this may be an inspiration for a redesign. More pictures here.

URTV, Buncombe County’s local public access TV station, marks its second anniversary with a MediaFest this weekend, featuring parties, an auction, workshops and an awards program. You should all go to this. Most importantly, you should go to the Late Night Bloc after-party, 9 PM on Saturday June 14th, at the Westville Pub. As part of the late light bloc, Pleasure Saucer (i.e., me, Rev. The opening night VIP gala will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at URTV studios in the Asheville Office Park on College Street, just before the Beaucatcher Mountain Tunnel.
A video music showcase afterparty will be held at 9 p.m. Friday at the Garage at Biltmore. Admission is $5.
Saturday offers an open house and silent auction at the URTV studios from 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
Workshops on animation, web publishing, advanced studio, lighting, podcasting and other skills will held throught the day. Go to www.urtv.org for a complete schedule. The workshops are free for members and $10 for others.
A late night spotlight afterparty will be held at 9 p.m. at Westville Pub. Admission is $5.
On Sunday, the Urtie Awards for URTV programming, saluting the best in locally made shows, will be held at 4 p.m. at the Cinebarre movie theater at Biltmore Square Mall on Brevard Road.
A full schedule, workshop listings, and directions can be found online at www.urtv.org and myspace .com/urtv20.

Pleasure Saucer Needs Money!
So, what would this sponsorship entail?
- $35 would get you a 10-second spot on the Pleasure Saucer television show, as well as a graphic link on the website. I would produce all promotional materials involved.
- $70 would get you a 20-second spot on the Pleasure Saucer television show, a graphic link on the website, and a text link on each post. This text link would get sent along with the post to anyone subscribed to this blog.
- $105 would get you a 30-second spot, a graphic link, a text link, and a sponsored post. That's a whole post singing the praises of your business, group, event, or what have you.
