Non-Tuba-Playing Heretics shall burn! BURN! BURNNNN!!!

This this most gosh-darn heartwarming thing I have read in a while.

Pleasure Saucer Episode 27: The Holiday Special

videoThis episode is what happens when you realize you have shot way too much (but still great!) footage, and for various reasons you can't show all of it on television. The solution? TV casserole! (I assume casserole. I don't really make casseroles. I'm more of a chicken'n'instant rice kind of guy. )
I want to do a lot more with all of these people in the very near future. This epsidoe featured a Mardi Gras celebration put on by Onca O'Leary of the Merzmer Society, a Valentine's Day show put on by Bootstraps Burlesque, and another Valentine's Day show put on by Spycey Spyce.

Episode 26: Jenny Bowen & The Mezmer Society

videoSo it turns out my modem is working after all. For now. The more observant of you might notice that this is not the episode that premiered today. This is actually last week's episode. I'll be putting up the latest one just after this post is done.
The even more observant of you might notice that there has been a break in episode continuity. This is due, because of a panicked rush to clear space on my hard-drive so I could complete a project (I need another hard-drive), to me accidentally deleting those files. I still have the DVDs (I think) but it will be a matter of a few weeks before I can get them ripped, reconditioned, and put up here.
This episode had me interviewing Jenny Bowen, of the Faces of Asheville project, and the Asheville ABC project, both of which I support. It also had a performance of the Mezmer Society, with incredibly bad lighting. I like Hookah Joe's, it is not TV friendly.

Epsidoe delay

My cable modem died on me last night, so episode up until that's fixed.

Introducing the Vortex Cabaret

The Vortex Cabaret is a series of bi-weekly variety shows presented at the Boiler Room, 11 Grove Street, Asheville, NC. The first will be on May 20th, a Wednesday, at 10 PM. Admission is $10 for ages 21+, $12 ages 18-20.
Each Vortex Cabaret will feature a an eclectic mix of some most interesting artists and performers in the Asheville area. It is my hope to turn it in a sort of mini fringe-fest, an evergreen outlet for the quirky, creative force that is Asheville. This week's Vortex Cabaret will feature the songs on One Tough Cookie, The belly-dancing of Sparrow, the hoop-dancing of Melmac Pink, the comedies of JJ Jackson and Nathan Adams, and the burlesque art of Theatre de Fetiche. Come early, drink often.

The hiatus is over. Let the hurting begin.

I'm back. I am over my funk. As proof, there will be a new episode April 29th, at @ AM. I am also working on the Vortex Cabaret, a live entertainment-type thingy going on at the Boiler Room every two weeks, starting May 20th. More details to follow. And now, a message from the pirates of Somalia. Go Pirates.
